Located at the hub of the Pacific Rim, the Alberni Valley has many treasures for you to discover. Nestled amongst the evergreens under the ever watchful presence of Mount Arrowsmith, you will find one of these at the Alberni Golf Club. This traditional golf course has a rich history extending back to the 1920's. While there have been many improvements to the course over the years you can nevertheless feel the spirit of those who have roamed the fairways before you. There is ample enjoyment and challenge for golfers of all skill levels. This par 70 jewel follows the contours of a salmon bearing stream which comes into play on several holes and also makes its annual contribution to the world's salmon capital, Port Alberni. Guests are always welcome to stop by and play a round with Mother Nature.

Hole 1

Pro Tip: Hole #1 is a slight dogleg left par four, accuracy is needed off the tee as there is water on both sides. A 200 yard teeshot will leave you a mid to short iron to the green. Make sure to take enough club as the front of the green is protected by a pond.

Hole 6

Pro Tip: This short par four should be a easy birdie for most, however the small two tiered green is very tricky. For sucess you must keep your 2nd shot below the hole. This short par four has had many shaking their heads as they leave the green.

Hole 7

Pro Tip: For most this a true three shot par five hole. You must hit a straight drive through a narrow opening, lay up so that you have a full shot into this well guarded green. Cherry Creek runs across the front, a pond awaits on the left as well as two green side bunkers.

Pro Tip: Our signature hole with breathtaking views of Mt Arrowsmith in the background. Keep your tee shot left to avoid the pond on the right and to have better access to the green. Like many holes there is a creek crossing in front of the green, take enough club to carry the creek.

Pro Tip: This par four is uphill for the first 200 yards and then down hill the rest of the way. This narrow green slopes from right to left. Its guarded with bunkers on both sides of the green. Don't miss the green to the right as it is nearly impossible to chip it close.

Hole 11

Pro Tip: This short par four is a grip it and rip it hole. The green is one of the largest on the course. Due to the length of the green make sure you have enough club when the pin is near the back. This is your best chance at a birdie on the back nine.

Hole 12

Pro Tip: This short par four plays tougher than its distance. It has two fairway bunkers that both come into play. A fairway wood or a hybrid is a good choice off the tee to avoid trouble. The green in shallow from front to back and the front is guarded by a pot bunker.

Hole 15

Pro Tip: The tee shot on this par four is probably the most demanding on the course. There is a pond running down the entire right hand side and the left side has a creek running up to the 100 yard marker. Accuracy is a must off the tee. The large undulating green is a challenge to putt.

Hole 16

Pro Tip: This par four has the narrowest fairway on the course. A fairway wood or hybrid is the club of choice as the hole has water right and out of bounds left. There also is a creek running across the fairway 240 yards from the tee. A good tee shot leaves you a mid to short iron to the green.

Pro Tip: The par four finishing hole is short but like a lot of holes it is narrow. Stay to the left side as the entire right side is bush and trees. There are three traps that guard the green. With a good tee shot on this hole you have a great chance to finish with a birdie.
